EDINBURGH FRINGE 2025
The Lolita Apologies

by Talia Fossum-Wernick

Written and directed by Talia Fossum-Wernick, The Lolita Apologies makes its world premiere this summer in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival at the Hill Street Theater. The one-act play will run for fourteen performances from August 1st through 14th, featuring Alex Keane and Jackie McKenna.

The Lolita Apologies follows a frustrated young woman having a series of imagined conversations with famous men whose poor adaptations of Lolita have done Nabokov's story and women at large a great disservice. As the play progresses, she is forced to reckon with her personal relationships with men, her desire for atonement, and, ultimately, a need for healing. Every woman deserves an apology.

ABOUT TALIA
I'm Talia, a versatile storyteller crafting compelling narratives for stage and screen. I am a New York City-based, Twin Cities-raised, Philadelphia-born, and Syracuse-trained artist (open to adding more major cities to my bio). In NYC, I've performed and created original work at venues like the People's Improv Theater and the New York Theatre Festival. I am a graduate of Syracuse University’s BFA Acting program. I also studied at Shakespeare’s Globe in London, performing as Don Pedro in my third production of Much Ado About Nothing (all, somehow, set in the 80s). Let's work together!
